Force transducers are used for the reliable measurement of tension and compression forces. The force transducers from WIKA can be delivered with affixed strain gauges or thin-film sensors. The strain gauge technology offers a large geometrical variety and high accuracy, and it is well suited for detecting even the smallest forces. The span of the measuring ranges of our force transducers that can be delivered stretches from 0.5 N to over 10,000 kN. Load cells with thin-film sensors are very cost-effective for special manufacture or OEM applications and also for safety-related applications due to their redundant output signals.

What is a nominal force?

The nominal force is the largest force for which the force transducer is nominally designed and up to which the metrological specifications of the manufacturer are complied with. This is also referred to as the so-called “full scale value (FS)”.

What is a relative linearity deviation?

The relative linearity deviation indicates the magnitude of the maximum deviation of the characteristic line of a force transducer from the reference line (BFSL) determined with increasing force, with reference to the end value of the measuring range.
